“Life is about creating yourself – a phrase which not only do I live my life passionately by but also what influences my artwork. I am a painter of many mediums and many subjects but I strive to achieve one thing with my artwork and that is to have fun. I strive to make the visual arts fun and accessible to everyone, most recently creating touchable artworks. Walking through art galleries in Europe I was influences by the interactive installations and had a strong desire to apply them to paintings. Working with various mediums and materials I am working on evolving interactive art.”

“I am a self-taught artist who studied Politics and Cultural Studies at Trent University. I am influenced by writings by Richard Florida and Herbert Marcuse, artists such as Yves Klein, and social projects such as PostSecrets. I enjoy breaking traditional gallery rules by creating touchable and interactive artworks. Using acrylic paints and other various mediums, I am able to create bold designs, colourful artworks that express the beauty of emotions, the world, and landscapes around us in a very positive way.”

“In the last two years I have evolved my artistic practices into large murals, interactive installation, and projects involving video and sound. I look forward to expanding my knowledge with new projects and experiences. For more information: www.MissLizzies.blogspot.com

Elizabeth has this to say about her submission to PULP: paper art party 2014 – Tubular Conduit

2014.PulpPaperArtParty

“This interactive art piece will be constructed from cardboard and cardboard tubes collected from the home. The tubes will be different sizes and lengths. They will be stringed together to create a form. Inside each tube will be a piece of a paper or two with messages. These messages may be secrets, wishes, dreams, sketched, or inspiring quotes from people. At the party, people can take a message, keep it, put it back, write a message and put it in one of the tubes. This piece is about discovery. The art piece will be the channel in which people at the party can interact, inspire, and be creative. Scrap pieces of paper will be available in different sizes. The paper will have been used on one side already, thus we will be reusing it before recycling it.”

We are excited to have Elizabeth participate in our event! See more installations for this year’s party here!
