PULP: paper art party 2015 is a fundraiser designed to examine the current lifecycle of paper materials (among others) and investigate alternative uses. This year the event will take place on May 23 at Jam Factory Co.
PULP is about community and sustainability. That’s why we use the funds we raise and the expertise of our designers to support a charity in Toronto every year. This year funds raised will be donated to Artists’ Network, a local art organization known for its Riverdale Art Walk event. If you wish to donate beyond the price of a ticket, please choose one of the donation options on our Event/Tickets page.
The Artists’ Network is a membership-based organization dedicated to supporting visual artists in their business practice.
The organization promotes professional development, entrepreneurship and growth by organizing educational seminars, offering networking opportunities, providing business tools and developing exhibition opportunities. It works with the individual artist, the community and arts organizations, as well as the private sector and all levels of government to promote the arts. And, it attracts art lovers and collectors so they can experience members’ work.
The Artists’ Network is a not-for-profit arts organization. It depends on its membership, volunteers, community partners and sponsors for support – while developing their own fundraising opportunities.
Its goal is the development of self-sustaining professional artists. Its members are artists, its staff are artists, and its board of directors are artists. Visit artistsnetwork.ca for more information.
Riverdale Art Walk is a two-day, public fine art exhibition showcasing established and emerging artists in retail spaces and Jimmie Simpson Park in Toronto’s flourishing Queen East arts district. The first outdoor art show of Toronto’s season, participating artists are selected through an anonymous jury process, allowing for an opportunity to participate in one of the most affordable show in the outdoor art festival circuit.
Since its inception, the festival has grown to over 150 participating artists and the inclusion of local community groups, entertainment and food vendors. Artist Awards in Photography, Painting, Mixed Media, and Other Media have been created through exciting new sponsorships with local organizations and businesses. Now in its 17th year in the Riverdale/Leslieville area of Toronto, the festival has grown to reach an audience of over 10,000 art enthusiasts and supporters. Through new partnership opportunities with the local BIA, the Riverdale Art Walk expects to grow both in participating artists and visitors.
What The Artists’ Network would do with the money from PULP : paper art party 2015:
The organization would use the funds to advertise for their artists exhibitions and promote The Riverdale Art Walk. In addition, money would go towards Education Seminars that The Artists’ Network offers its members on a monthly basis.
