$1000 raised so far, please donate below to help Evergreen move into its new home.
PULP: paper art party 2018 is an art exhibit and performance event which donates funds for charity every year. This year’s party will support the Yonge Street Mission Evergreen Centre for Street-Involved Youth. PULP is engaged through both art making and fundraising. The event will take place on Saturday January 20 at Super Wonder Gallery. This is a 19+ event.
Street-Involved Youth Are Artists
Artist Ksenija Spasic has been working with staff and youth at Evergreen since the beginning of November. They are creating a reclaimed wood mosaic painted by Evergreen youth, which will be displayed the event and then permanently installed at Evergreen’s new location. She is working with YSM Art Director Sharon Abel and Drop-in Supervisor/Community Capacity Builder Aleke Dekker, as well as several youth at the centre.
In addition, PULP will donate funds to The YSM Evergreen Centre.

Rob is a familiar face at the centre’s art room. He is a graffiti artist and loves painting in different media. This year we decided to offer Rob’s paintings for sale at the event – profits will be split between him and Evergreen.
What The YSM Evergreen Centre for Street-Involved Youth will do with your contributions
This is the third year PULP will be contributing funds to and working with YSM Evergreen Centre for Street Youth.
In 2017 PULP donated $2100 to the centre. Over the summer, Art Director Sharon Abel and Supervisor Aleke Dekker were able to launch a pilot project to create a social enterprise out of Evergreen: Jubilee Designs. This is a design and decor business idea that is founded on the creativity and resilience of the centre’s youth. Youth were able to focus on their primary goals such as mental health or housing stability, while working a few hours a week in a supportive and creative environment. They created beautiful decorations and accessories using discarded and re-purposed material, which will be sold in an Etsy Shop.
The money from this year’s (2018) party will also be used for the Jubilee social enterprise. These are art projects, but the exciting thing is that the youth are getting paid!
About YSM Evergreen Centre
The YSM Evergreen Centre for Street-Involved Youth has improved both individual lives and communities. Out of approximately 10,000 street-involved youth in this city, YSM Evergreen served 6500 youth in 2014-2015.
One of the ways that The Yonge Street Mission helps to lift people out of poverty is through providing a comprehensive drop-in program at our Evergreen Centre for at risk street youth.
