PULP: paper art party 2015

On May 23, 2015 at Jam Factory over 300 guests partied in a room full of garbage.

Live Drawing by Stefan Berg

Live Drawing by Stefan Berg | “Using the most elementary of supplies – reclaimed paper and charcoal – Artist Stefan Berg demonstrates a form of life-drawing. This performative drawing process will layer impressions and observations onto a single page, accumulating a unique document of time and experience.”

PULP: paper art party 2015 was an interactive art and design exhibit and fundraiser, integrated with a live music show, designed to examine the current lifecycle of paper and other recyclable materials, and to investigate alternative uses. Following last year’s tremendously successful party, PULP: paper art party continues to reach new heights. PULP: paper art party brings together artists of all fields, musicians, activity groups, as well as hundreds of guests.

$500 raised from the event were donated to Artists’ Network!

PULP Couture and La Lemon Drop by Neda Saeedi

PULP Couture and La Lemon Drop by Neda Saeedi “Pulp Couture, is an elegant couture dress composed of recycled material. Fashion does not have to come with hefty price to our environment. Good design is what makes a piece unique while material, new or old, add beauty and character.”

Every year artists, designers, and architects create installations out of discarded materials and reimagine the spaces where PULP: paper art party is taking place. Artists are encouraged to come up with creative solutions for connecting and assembling their pieces without using common adhesives or anything that may destroy the materials’ capacity to be recycled or composted. Find an in-depth look at the art from PULP: paper art party 2015 here!

A Little Rambunctious

The evening combined installation art, live music, dancing, and conversation. This year we brought together the old with the new in a New Orleans/electro swing vibe, featuring Boxcar boysA Little Rambunctious, and DJ Medicineman. With dozens of incredible artists and the ideal musical environment, there was plenty for guests to explore, play with, and talk about.
